FAQ
Common questions.
When does Iqra launch?
Soon, on Google Play. Drop your email above and we'll let you know on launch day — one email, then nothing.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not at launch. Iqra is Android-only in V1. iOS's Screen Time API is restrictive in ways that would compromise the experience. We may revisit later.
Is it free?
Yes. V1 is free, no paywall, no ads. We may introduce optional premium features later — the core habit will remain free.
What permissions does Iqra need?
Five: notifications, exact alarm, usage stats, draw-over-other-apps, and accessibility. Each is explained in-app before we ask. We use them only to know which app is in the foreground and to draw the verse over it. Read the privacy policy for details.
Why does Iqra need accessibility access?
Android only lets us see "which app is in the foreground" through the accessibility framework. We do not read the contents of any app — not your messages, your passwords, or your keystrokes. Nothing leaves your phone.
Can I read in Arabic? In English?
Both. Verses are shown in Uthmani Arabic with a Sahih International English translation underneath. The app interface is fully available in Arabic and English.
What happens if I miss a morning?
Nothing dramatic. Your reading plan waits for you — the next time you open a locked app, the same verse is there. We do not punish missed days.
Can I disable Iqra temporarily?
You can change your locked apps or the lock time at any moment in settings. There is no "snooze" button by design — Iqra is a 30-second commitment, not a battle.
